Office 2011 for Mac more closely mirrors the design of the PC version of Office (as you can see by Microsoft Word for Mac shown), but it still includes everything you’d demand from a native OS X application (such as Pages from iWork, which is Apple’s competing office productivity suite). Lots of hard work was put into the latest Mac version of Microsoft Office, and it shows. It is mostly compatible with any documents created in the Windows versions of Office, but newer features of Office 2013 for Windows may not open as expected under the last boxed Mac version. I wonder who propogated "this particular myth" in the first place?Ĭurrent versions of Office 2008 are 13.3 (supports Exchange 2003) and 14.1 (supports Exchange 2007/10), I have heard of no plans to update either version for Lion, you'd have to ask Microsoft about that.īoth versions have a PPC installer so will not install on Lion but should run if installed prior to the Lion upgrade. Office 2008 installs and runs correctly on Lion and Mountain Lion, the Microsoft Query add on does not, is that clear enough? What are you saying about Office 2008 and its possible inability to work without Rosetta in Lion or Mt. Please restate these two contradictory posts.
